    TENTATIVE REOPENING OF YMCA FACILITIES

    ** Updated Friday June 11, 2021 (1:30 pm) **

    Subject to the easing of provincial health restrictions, The YMCA of Cape Breton will resume operations at 50% capacity at the Frank Rudderham Family YMCA and Membertou YMCA on Wednesday June 16th.

    Our Facility Team is preparing the YMCA pool for reopening with a target date of Wednesday June 16th (subject to provincial health restrictions). A pool update will be provided on Monday June 14th.

    Subject to provincial health restrictions, All YMCA of Cape Breton Nova Scotia Works Employment Services Centres will begin offering in-person appointments (no walk-ins) on Wednesday June 16th. To book an appointment call:

    Subject to provincial health restrictions, The YMCA of Cape Breton’s Y Lotto Weekly Toonie Draws will resume on Thursday June 24th.

    COVID-19 PROGRAM AND FACILITY UPDATE:
    ** Updated Monday May 31, 2021 **

    The YMCA of Cape Breton continues to follow the advice of Nova Scotia Public Health and looks forward to reopening all YMCA facilities and programs when feasible!

    The Frank Rudderham Family YMCA and Membertou YMCA branches will resume operations at 50% capacity as part of Phase 2 of Nova Scotia's Reopening Plan (exact dates TBD).

    Members are encouraged to participate in YMCA of Cape Breton online fitness classes on Facebook Live or to experience our virtual YMCA programs on the YMCA@home+ platform.

    All YMCA Membership Fees will be suspended for the duration of the government mandated closure period.

    Members wishing to support their YMCA by "donating back" their membership fees should contact front.desk@cb.ymca.ca. Tax receipts will be issued for all donations.

    Our YMCA Early Learning Centre located at 399 Charlotte Street remains opened and will transition to 100% of licensed capacity as of June 2nd.

    All YMCA of Cape Breton Nova Scotia Works Employment Services Centres continue to be closed to in-person services: Sydney, New Waterford and Glace Bay. Services will continue to be offered through virtual means. We anticipate transitioning to in-person appointments during Phase 2 of the province's Reopening Plan (timing TBD).

    We continue to accept online registrations for our YMCA Summer Day Camps scheduled July 5 - August 27. For more information contact janice.curnew@cb.ymca.ca.

    The YMCA of Cape Breton’s YLotto Weekly Toonie Draws have been postponed. We hope to resume weekly draws during Phase 2 of Nova Scotia's Reopening Plan.

  • Summer Day Camp Registration

    Mark your calendars! We will be pushing out our summer day camp registration by just a few days to allow us to finish fully setting up for an 🎉🎉🎉ONLINE REGISTRATION 🎉🎉🎉

    Online registration for members, returning campers and campers needing special supports will open up on Monday, May 10th at noon, and non-members can register beginning at noon on Tuesday, May 11th!
    We will be posting more information including where to go to register as well as our Policy Handbook and Registration Forms on Friday so make sure to check our Facebook page 😁

  • NEW COVID-19 POTENTIAL EXPOSURES AT MEMBERTOU SPORT AND WELLNESS CENTRE

    *** Updated Wednesday April 28th at 1:00 PM ***
    Last night Nova Scotia Public Health announced additional potential COVID-19 exposures at the Membertou Sport & Wellness Centre on April 20, April 21 and April 22 between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
    Public Health has confirmed this exposure notification does not apply to individuals at the Membertou YMCA (it only applies to those inside the rink).

    Effective immediately, all YMCA of Cape Breton Nova Scotia Works Employment Services Centres are closed to in-person services: Sydney, New Waterford and Glace Bay. Services will continue to be offered through virtual means. If you have an appointment, you will be contacted shortly to discuss your options.
