Event Recap: Breakfast with Inclusive Employers

Last week on October 1st, we hosted a fantastic Employer Appreciation Breakfast at Dory Pub, celebrating businesses in Cape Breton that participate in Opportunities Fund and are making a real difference by supporting inclusive hiring practices.

With the start of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we invited 2 speakers: Bradley Sheppard from Sheppard Training Inc. and Co-founder, Bringing People Places and Nicole Cammaert from Sea Change CoLab. Bradley delivered an engaging presentation on diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. He also shared real-world examples and practical strategies to create inclusive work environments that embrace the many layers of diversity. Nicole further discussed the importance of community building. Her experience in fostering collaborations across differences for social innovation and reconciliation added valuable insights to our discussion.
