Grant Thornton Team takes the win at YMCA Battle of the Brains, an event that raised $15K for the YMCA of Cape Breton

114 participants from 19 teams battled it out for the championship title on Saturday, November 4, 2023. SYDCO Energy was the event’s presenting sponsor and Kelsea MacNeil, Director of Public Relations & Business Development at Membertou Development Corporation hosted the 10-round trivia competition.

The winning team from Grant Thornton consisted of Mike McKeigan, Rob Wadden, Sue MacLean, Craig MacEachern, Kale O’Tool & Andie MacDonald. 

Joining Grant Thornton were teams from MNP, McInnes Cooper, Sampson MacPhee, The Rolling Phones, TD Bank, RBC, Sydney Credit Union, Cape Breton Credit Union, Lindsay Construction, NSCC, CBU, and Membertou Development Corporation as they answered questions on topics from pop culture to Cape Breton landmarks.

Each team’s performance was scored by a panel of judges that included friends of the Y, Darlene Jennings, Ankit Wadwha, Geoff MacLeod and Don Peters.
