Mossa Programs
The YMCA of Cape Breton offers 5 Mossa Programs: Group Active, Group Blast, Group Fight, Group Power and Group Ride. MOSSA Workouts are designed to help you reach a higher level of mobility and athleticism. By training with us, no matter your age or physical condition, these programs will make it easier for you to move better in every aspect – from day-to-day life all the way up to setting personalized goals that challenge yourself!
Group Active
Group Active is a simple and athletic program drawing from all four elements of fitness: cardio, strength, balance, and flexibility. In just one hour, get stronger, fitter and healthier with inspiring music, adjustable dumbbells, weight plates, body weight, and simple athletic movements. Group Active is refreshed every three months with new music and choreography. Come activate your body!
Group Blast
An energetic cardio workout at the YMCA using The STEP will help you build your fitness, agility, coordination, and strength. Group Blast is a great cardio option because you do it all: walk, jog, run, jump, plyometrics, and drills, on and off The STEP, to energetic music. Your Group Blast instructor will be there to help modify your workout to match your fitness level.
Group Fight
Group Fight is a gripping hour that builds cardio fitness, total-body strength, and coordination. Combine the hottest, adrenaline-fueled MMA movements from the boxing ring to the fighting cage with cutting-edge exercises from outside the octagon. Thrilling music and motivational coaching will get you fighting fit. FIGHT FOR IT!
Group Power
Group Power is a results driven strength training workout utilizing an adjustable barbell, weight plates, and body weight. Work all of your muscles in this high repetition training workout. Group Power is refreshed every three months with new music and choreography. Come for your hour of Power!
Group Ride
Group Ride is a 45-minute cycling experience brought indoors that will get you heart, lung, and leg strong. Inspiring music sets the pace and creates the terrain as you roll over hills, chase the pack, spin the flats, climb mountains, and sprint to the finish! RIDE ON!
